Rich Video Content Will Rule

Video content is now huge and will continue to be so in 2018. Like to know some rather incredible statistics? More video content is uploaded onto the web every 30 days than the major US television networks have created in 30 years. Plus more than 500 million hours of content are watched on Youtube everyday.

According to Forbes, video ads now account for more than 35% of all ad spend online - a figure that is set to grow, with video projected to claim more than 80% of all web traffic by 2019.

Brands need to focus on upping their creativity to capture attention, while remaining on brand and focused on key messages.

Image is Everything

Graphic designers and creative directors will seek to create even richer content through design. Gradients will be bright, animations will be thoughtful and logos will be responsive.

They’ll look to create extra depth in their designs, with bold typography and more serifs.

80s and 90s colour palettes will also make a comeback. The 2018 Pantone Colour of the Year is a rambunctious Ultra Violet, an imaginative colour full of possibility.

Instagram Will Begin to Prove More Valuable

Instagram now has 800 million monthly active users. Facebook has two billion monthly active users...but Instagram is reportedly producing better engagement for advertisers. Although not exactly bad news for Facebook, seeing as they own Instagram!

Boosting Facebook posts has become ingrained in the advertising culture - this is the year targeted advertising on Instagram really takes off.

Influencer Marketing Remains Relevant

Speaking of Instagram - according to recent research, more than 95% of marketers who use Influencer Marketing believe it is effective. Instagram is a popular platform to harness the power of Influencers. However, all social media channels can be utilised.

We used Influencer Marketing to great success this year with one of our clients, kitchen experts Granite Transformations. Design Influencer Shaynna Blaze and Radio Personality Chrissie Swann were used to great effect.

Brand Expectations Will Continue to Increase

Thanks to technology, customers have increased expectations when it comes to service and experience.Voice assistants, same-day delivery and on-demand content mean that marketers and brand managers continually need to innovate to find ways to keep customers happy.

It’s the reason that at headmark we constantly monitor multiple social media channels for clients, plus create a strategic plan and system for responding to customer concerns at weekends - important when you’re dealing with busy, national chains.
